Local events such as parades, shows and beauty pageants performed at public venues can be great for stills and video without requiring special permission or subjects' consent. On the Gold Coast, such an event was the bikini line to break a Guinness Book of Records tally. There are fashion promotions, catwalk, dancers and such events at regional shows; one only needs to check local papers and notices to see what is on, when and where.

Sexpo is another event run in each of the eastern seaboard states in Oz, where stage shows and stall holders provide the opportunity for members of the public to take snapshots of amateur strip shows, dance and hi-wire acts on the stage. Management restricts cameras to pocket types rather than SLR format but mobile phone still and video is allowed although the resolution is usually not so good for editing.

Where possible, we should be able to list such events, however some beauty contests, competitions and indoor events are likely to require permission for filming too. Best to ask first and avoid any hassles or confrontation.
